咸丰县位于湖北省恩施土家族、苗族自治州西南部，云贵高原东延武陵山余脉与大巴山之间，东经108°37′8″至109°20′8″，北纬29°19′28″至30°2′54″。南北长80.38公里，东西宽68.95公里。东接宣恩，东南邻来凤，南与重庆酉阳接壤，西界重庆黔江，北连利川，东北接恩施市。国土面积2550平方公里，分别占省、州的1.3%、9.4%。县政府所在地高乐山镇至州府公路里程93公里、至省府655公里。

祁门地处黄山西麓，与江西毗邻，是安徽的南大门，属古徽州“一府六县”之一，建县于唐永泰二年（公元766年），因城东北有祁山，西南有阊门而得名，是一个“九山半水半分田”的山区县。 2022年，全县国土面积2257平方公里，林地面积305万亩，其中有林地面积274万亩；现辖10镇8乡，111个村委会，1039个村民组，总人口183548人，其中男性94817人，女性88731人；总人口中，城镇人口60224人，农村人口123324人。 境内森林覆盖率高达88.64％，居全省首位；森林活立木蓄积量为1250万立方米，是我省重点林业大县。
