高碑店市人民政府网官网
高碑店市，古为督岗地，历史悠久，文化灿烂。夏时期，有易氏部落在此繁衍生息，开疆拓土。春秋战国时为燕国督岗地。唐文宗太和六年置新城县，县治在今高碑店市新城镇，属涿郡。明代洪武六年新城县改属保定府，清代沿用明制。民国十七年直隶省改为河北省，新城县属河北省直辖。 抗日战争时期市境先后属冀中区四专区、五专区、十专区。1948年10月新城县解放，成立人民政府。1949年8月河北省人民政府成立后，归保定专区管辖。1958年10月，新城县、雄县、涿县、涞水县东部地区合并，称涿县，县人民委员会驻地高碑店。1961年12月恢复新城县。1966年至1969年县人民政府迁至今新城镇。1969年11月县政府复迁至高碑店。1993年4月9日经国务院批准，撤销新城县，建立了高碑店市，辖区不变，隶属保定地区。1994年，保定地区和保定市合并建立新的保定市，辖高碑店市至今。
